Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, burnished amber with copper-gold sheen and a whisper of mahogany.
Nose
Coastal and smoky, this nose bursts with brine and peat, like sea spray over charred barley. Medicinal iodine and a touch of tar mingle with vanilla and citrus zest, while a waxy, mineral backbone gives Brora’s sea-forward gravitas.
Palate
Full-bodied, mouth-coating and intensely peated, this Brora delivers smoky coastal peat, brine and iodine with a waxy richness. Dried fig, treacle and dark chocolate mingle with subtle sherry warmth, while citrus zest brightens the mid-palate. The finish is long and maritime, with peat and oak echoing into a lingering, warm glow.
Finish
An ultra-long, maritime finish: tidal smoke and sea spray cling to the tongue, while sherry-rich sweetness deepens behind it. Warming peat, cocoa, and a touch of leather persist as iodine and mineral notes slowly fade into a polished, salty afterglow that lingers long on the palate.
