Brora (silent) Rare Malts Selection Single Malt Scotch Whisky 24 Year Old · 1977 Vintage
In stock
This is one of the very best of the Rare Malts series and a fantastic example of the sadly long lost distillery Brora bottled at 24 years old at natural cask strength. A huge and powerful malt with savoury, waxy and coastal notes that has a meaty intensity, this is like a roast beef dinner of a whisky and one to enjoy outdoors in autumn!

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a bronze-tinged core, glowing with a sun-warmed, honey-bronze radiance.
Nose
Intense maritime aroma: sea spray, brine and iodine ride atop bold peat smoke. Waxy beeswax notes mingle with savoury meatiness—the scent of roasting beef and caramelized fat—while mineral coastal undertones and a hint of leather complete an autumnal, outdoor aroma.
Palate
Big, unctuous and savoury on the palate, with a waxy, marine heft. Coastal iodine meets peat smoke, then a densely beefy core - roast beef and rich stock - carried by a dry oak spine. The texture is lush and oily, at natural strength, finishing long with salty, leather-dusted warmth and a touch of sweetness from the sherry cask.
Finish
Powerful, coastal finish that lingers with saline waxiness and roast-meat gravitas. Notes of cured beef, smoky peat and briny iodine glisten, then fade slowly to a dry mineral warmth with a final whisper of leather.
