Every year for the Annual Diageo releases the Brora is always the hot bottle and for the last couple of years the rumours are always "could it be the last?"
Well if it is the last they have finished on a stunning 38 year old release aged in a combination of refill American Hogsheads and refill European oak butts, now silent since 1983 and along with Port Ellen the two most famous and sought after distilleries of the limited releases.
One of the great all rounders of the single malts with everything you look for in great whisky working in perfect harmony with each element well balanced so you get wood, spice, fruit, smoke and grain all holding hands into an epic finish.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Savoury smoked meat, damp forest floor, old leather or suede, engine oil, candlewax, peppery oak, truffle, mushroom risotto, smoked figs.
Palate
A meaty, malty, mouthfilling palate with rich savoury notes of old leather, smoked chutney, sooty toffee and earthy caramel, tempered by ginger spice and a lift of oily citrus.
Finish
Waxy citrus, charred chocolate, smoked meats, forest bonfire smoke, wet leather, homemade chutney and honey mustard.
