The range centres on Copper Pot, with further expressions including Double Oak, Red Head, Single Pot Still, Cask Strength and limited cask-finished releases. The style is generally fruit-led and rounded, with pot still spice, malt sweetness and cask influence varying across bourbon, sherry, Marsala, Mizunara and other special finishes.
Walsh Whiskey opened a distillery at Royal Oak in 2016 through a joint venture with Illva Saronno, but the partnership ended in 2019, with the Walsh family retaining Writers’ Tears and The Irishman while Illva Saronno kept the distillery. Amber Beverage Group acquired Walsh Whiskey in 2021, keeping the existing management in place and adding wider international distribution to the brand.
