This exquisite, triple-distilled single malt is matured only in select handpicked Spanish sherry butts, which have previously been seasoned with the finest Oloroso sherry. It is the influence of these exceptional butts that give this expression of Writers’ Tears its signature rich, ruby hue and hence the moniker – ‘Red Head’. The expression is distilled without chill filtering as nature intended and at a distinctive 46% ABV.

Opulent sherry-driven bouquet: ripe red fruits—plum, cherry, fig—layered with toffee, orange zest and dark chocolate. Toasted oak, almond and caramelized sugar notes mingle with a whisper of spice, yielding a velvety warmth that hints at Spanish oloroso aging within this Red Head Irish whiskey.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied, it coats the palate with a ruby glow. Rich dried fruits—raisins, figs and cherries—unfold with dark cocoa, toasted almond and warm spice. Sherry-soaked oak brings luscious sweetness, mingling orange zest and subtle oak notes. At 46%, the texture remains creamy with a lingering, balanced finish.
Finish
Velvety, long finish of rich Oloroso sherry notes—dark fruit, caramel and cocoa layered with toasted oak, a touch of almond, and a lingering warm spice that gently fades.
