The Shed Distillery opened in December 2014 in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, in the heart of rural Ireland, making history as the first distillery in the Northwestern province of Connacht in over 100 years. Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is the distillery’s first global whiskey release.

This single pot still Irish whiskey is the flagship whisket release from Drumshanbo distillery, compricing of Irish Banna oats, unmalted Irish barley matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels & ex-oloroso sherry casks.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with a warm copper glow and subtle mahogany undertones.

Nose

A luxurious vanilla aroma anchors a fruit-forward bouquet of figs and raisins, with red berry jam and a whisper of sweet spice.

Palate

Warming from the first sip, the palate unfurls Christmas cake spice with toasted oak and orchard fruits, enriched by fig and sherry, and a silky milk chocolate cadence.

Finish

Long, plush notes of rich fig and raisin drift into a dry sherry finish, lingering warmly on the palate.

The Shed Distillery was founded in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim, by PJ and Denise Rigney in 2014. The first whiskey was laid down on 21 December 2014, bringing distilling back to Connacht after more than 101 years and giving the western province its first new whiskey distillery in more than a century.
