About Pol Roger
Pol Roger was founded in 1849, when Pol Roger made his first wine sale in Aÿ before moving the house to Épernay in 1851. Champagne Pol Roger remains one of the notable family-owned Champagne houses, with a long-standing reputation in the UK and a history closely tied to the British market.
The house style is built around structure, freshness and long ageing, with Brut Réserve as the core non-vintage Champagne. It is made from equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, sourced from around 30 crus, with reserve wines used to keep the style consistent from year to year.
Pol Roger is especially associated with Sir Winston Churchill, who became one of the house’s most famous admirers. Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill was created from the 1975 vintage as a tribute to him, using Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from grand cru vineyards to produce a richer, more powerful prestige Champagne with structure, maturity and depth.
