About Dalmore
(dal-MOR) Founded in 1839 and located on the shores of the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands, The Dalmore has built its reputation on rich, luxurious single malt whisky with a strong emphasis on exceptional cask maturation. Its setting allows the distillery to draw water from the River Alness, while the coastal climate plays its part in the character and ageing of the spirit.
One of the most recognisable features of Dalmore is the royal stag emblem that appears on every bottle. The symbol dates back to 1263, when the Mackenzie clan, later owners of the distillery, were granted the right to use the 12-point stag by King Alexander III of Scotland. Today, it has become one of the most iconic emblems in Scotch whisky.
Dalmore is particularly known for its innovative and high-end cask programmes. Alongside American oak, the distillery works extensively with rare and aged sherry casks from renowned bodegas in Spain, as well as port, Madeira and wine casks. This layered approach to maturation creates a signature style that is rich, smooth and indulgent, often showing notes of dark chocolate, orange, spice, coffee and dried fruits.
With a strong range of age-statement whiskies and premium limited releases, Dalmore has become a go-to name for those looking for a fuller, more decadent Highland single malt. It’s a distillery that consistently delivers depth, polish and a sense of occasion in every bottle.
