Bollinger La Grande Annee Champagne (Wooden Box) 2018 Vintage
In stock
Crafted only in exceptional vintages, Bollinger La Grande Année 2018 is a powerful yet beautifully poised expression of one of Champagne's most celebrated houses. Produced exclusively from grand cru and premier cru vineyards, the wine is fermented entirely in aged oak barrels and matured for an extended period on its lees, creating remarkable depth, texture, and complexity.
The nose opens with an inviting bouquet of ripe orchard fruits, mirabelle plum, baked apple, and citrus zest, layered with notes of toasted brioche, roasted hazelnuts, acacia honey, and delicate spice. As the wine evolves in the glass, subtle hints of dried flowers, chalk, and flint emerge, adding further refinement.
On the palate, La Grande Année 2018 is rich and concentrated, yet lifted by vibrant acidity and Bollinger's signature precision. Flavours of golden apple, pear, preserved lemon, almond cream, and freshly baked pastry are complemented by a fine mineral backbone and an exceptionally creamy mousse. The finish is long, saline, and elegantly persistent, promising further complexity with careful cellaring.
A superb partner for lobster, turbot, roast chicken with morels, veal, or aged Comté, this vintage also shines as a contemplative Champagne to enjoy on its own. While already displaying impressive generosity, La Grande Année 2018 has the structure and balance to develop gracefully over the next 15–20 years.
