About Hawkstone
Hawkstone is a British drinks brand created in 2021 through a partnership between Jeremy Clarkson and the Cotswold Brewing Company. Based near Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucestershire, the brewery was originally founded in 2005 by Rick and Emma Keene before being rebranded as Hawkstone in 2022. The brand takes its name from the Hawk Stone, a Neolithic standing stone near Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm, with barley grown on the farm used in the original Hawkstone Lager.
Launched in late 2021, Hawkstone transforms two-row spring barley cultivated at Diddly Squat Farm into a modern English beer and cider line that champions provenance and patience. The grain is malted locally before a six-week fermentation and lagering cycle at the Cotswold Brew Co. – more than double the industry norm – producing a clean, bready malt profile with refined bitterness.
The flagship Premium English Lager (4.8 % ABV) balances crisp Saaz and Hallertau hops with subtle stone-fruit notes, while Session Lager (4.2 % ABV) offers lighter refreshment and the India Pale Ale (5.8 % ABV) layers vibrant citrus and pine on a robust malt base. Hawkstone Cider blends eating-apple varieties from Herefordshire for bright orchard character, and Hedgerow Fruit Cider infuses natural berry flavours for a summer-ready twist. Limited ceramic bottles, mixed bundles and gift packs provide collectable formats and tasting-set options for fans of Clarkson’s Farm and independent British brewing.
