Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper lights. Reddish gold. No beading; very good, long legs.
Nose
Very mellow, dense and complex, with no prickle. Familiar soft notes of scented candle wax, a light mineral oiliness, and a gentle hint of sweet toffee. With time it grows more fragrant and nuanced, revealing deeper warmth without harshness.
Palate
Oily, waxy texture coats the palate, delivering a sweet, softly salted smoke that deepens into spice, Cayenne pepper lingering at the rear. A long, warming finish of peat and gentle heat.
Finish
Long warming and lightly drying, with gingery spice, a peaty kick and a menthol-like cool aftertaste.
