Tasting Notes
Colour
Dark, burnished amber with coppery highlights and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Intense maritime peat smoke leads the nose, edged with sea spray and iodine. Beneath, rich sherried fruit—dark plum and cherry—melds with toasted oak and a hint of cacao. Subtle waxy vanilla and burnt sugar add caramel depth, while a faint coastal brine lingers, refined by time into an enveloping, prestigious perfume.
Palate
Silky and deeply smoky, with coastal brine, iodine and medicinal peat meeting sweet dried fruit and lacquered oak. Sherried notes of raisin and dark chocolate mingle with subtle spice, then a velvety, full-bodied mouthfeel gives way to a long, saline finish threaded with espresso and ash.
Finish
An enduring, coastal finish where saline peat lingers with sherry-rich sweetness, unveiling cocoa, dried fig and orange zest. Rich oak, spice, and a soft, resinous smoke weave through, tapering to a long, warming echo of Brora’s maritime peat.
