Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep golden amber with sunlit honey tones and a faint copper glint.
Nose
Savory meat stock and roasted meats sit beneath leathery undercurrents, touched by aromatic candle-wax and stem ginger. Old tea chests lend a dusty richness, while candied mixed peel glints softly, and a whisper of coal-fire smoke threads through the aroma.
Palate
Oily, waxy and peppery, a meaty start that eases into a waxy citrus-tinged malt. Smoked barley, apple and pear lead, with dried fruit, nut brittle, gingerbread, salty toffee and spicy cereal, finished with herbal honey.
Finish
Aromatic wood smoke lingers with ginger, oily nut shells and waxy mixed peel, touched by dried fruit and leather; a dry, long, meaty finish that is peppery and enduring.
