In stock
The 2007 release of Brora is the sixth official release of 30 year old whisky from the distillery by Diageo. This particular expression scored a very impressive 93 points from Whiksyfun;s Serge Valentin, one of the leading experts on vintage Brora. Powerful, peaty and complex, this has a a very balanced savoury character to it.
Formerly known as Clynelish, Brora has been closed since 1983, after a new distillery was built next-door in 1967, and assumed the Clynelish name and eventually sole distilling responsibilities. The original distillery bottlings are rare and increasingly sought after. This is one of 2958 bottles released.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery highlights and a warm antique-gold glow.
Nose
Powerful peat smoke and brine rise with sea-air freshness, doubled by iodine and ash. Sherry-cask depth brings dried fig, date and dark chocolate, while leather, pepper and subtle maritime mineral notes weave through the aroma. Sophisticated, savory and bound to linger, a true Brora coastal character in full maturity.
Palate
Powerful peat and smoke mingle with coastal iodine and a touch of brine. Rich dark fruit, toffee and cocoa unfold, guided by savoury leather and espresso notes. Full, velvety texture with a long, saline finish that remains balanced by oak and subtle spice.
Finish
Long, maritime finish of peat and iodine, with mineral brine and ash that slowly fade into leather and dark chocolate. A gentle sherry-backed sweetness lingers, then recedes to dry, smoky peat and salted oak, leaving a refined, enduring warmth.
