Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery sheen and a burnished mahogany edge, a warm, sherry-tinted glow.
Nose
Coastal peat and sea-salt breeze rise from the glass, edged with medicinal iodine. Rich sherry sweetness folds in—fig, prune and cherry—alongside orange zest, toffee and dark chocolate. Waxy oak and toasted almond lend grip, while a whisper of ash and briny brine lingers, inviting another breath of Brora’s timeless, smoky grace.
Palate
Opulent and maritime, Brora floods the palate with peat smoke, sea-salt and iodine, then unveils waxy sweetness. Dried fig and raisin mingle with dark chocolate, orange zest and pear, while spice and oak provide ballast. Full-bodied and mouth-coating, it closes with mineral peat, waxy oils, and a long, ember-dry finish.
Finish
Long, seafaring finish, where Brora’s peat lingers with coastal brine and ash. Sherry sweetness unfolds into dark fruit, cocoa and caramel, then slowly fades to a warm, resinous smoke and a peppery, drying glow that persists.
