Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with copper-gold shimmer and a mahogany edge.
Nose
Coastal peat and sea-salt smoke surge from the glass, mingling with medicinal iodine and ash. Rich sherry-derived sweetness—raisin, fig and dark cocoa—carries the oak spice, while vanilla-tinted warmth threads through. A powerful, maritime perfume that hints at Brora’s legend.
Palate
Opulent and full-bodied on the palate, Brora pours dense peat smoke with maritime brine and iodine, layered over rich sherry sweetness of raisin and fig, with dark chocolate notes. An oily, velvety texture coats the mouth, while toffee and roasted nuts emerge, finished by peppery spice and a long, persistent, warming finish.
Finish
An enduring maritime finish: sea smoke and salt cling to the palate, with iodine and tar yielding to velvety dried fruit, cocoa and pepper. Sherry sweetness rounds the edges, while a warm oak spine lingers, leaving a subtle menthol lift as the peat smoke slowly fades.
