Brora (silent) Connoisseurs Choice Single Malt Scotch Whisky 22 Year Old · 1972 Vintage
Out of stock
One of the truly iconic distillery vintages. Brora 1972's are incredibly rare these days and much sought after! This is an independantly bottled version from Gordon and Macphail bottled 22 years later, well after the distilery had been closed. Bottled at 40%, which keeps the price lower than official bottlings, this is still an absolute must for any serious whisky collector.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany glow.
Nose
Coastal brine and iodine entwine with a whisper of peat smoke, gently sherry-influenced for depth. Dried orange, dark caramel and waxy oak rise over mineral, sea-salted notes, yielding Brora’s quiet, venerable elegance.
Palate
Silky peat and sea-salted smoke meld with a sherried sweetness. Dried fruits — fig and raisin — emerge alongside cocoa, leather and almond, building a warm, caramelized core. The finish lingers with maritime salt, gentle smoke and a dignified, polished sweetness.
Finish
Long maritime finish of salt air, peat smoke and subtle sherry sweetness. Waxy, mineral notes linger with cocoa and leather, fading gracefully into a warm, contemplative glow.
