A distillery-only single cask release for Feis Ile 2023, this Octomore Valinch 0.2 was distilled in 2011, aged 10 years and bottled at cask strength of 58.1% ABV in 50cl format. Available exclusively at Bruichladdich during the festival.
Part of the Valinch series, which offers visitors the chance to bottle directly from a chosen cask, this edition showcases Octomore’s heavily peated house style in an unfiltered, single cask form. Limited by nature and not released to general retail.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Dark copper-amber with mahogany undertones and a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
Towering peat smoke envelopes the nose, medicinal and coastal, with sea-salt and iodine clinging to the aroma. Underneath, bright citrus oils and a touch of vanilla mingle with toasted malt, while the cask-strength intensity promises a bold, briny elegance.
Palate
Oil-rich and intensely peated, it coats the palate with sea-salted smoke and medicinal peat. Layered with black pepper, dark chocolate, and dried fruit, it rests on a sturdy oak backbone. At cask strength, the heat persists into a long, warming finish of smoke, spice, and sweetness.
Finish
Long, maritime finish dominated by coastal peat and medicinal smoke, slowly giving way to rich dried fruit and dark chocolate. Sherry sweetness adds velvet depth, while peppery spice and oak linger, finishing with a saline, resinous warmth that tapers to a dry, smoky ember.
