Octomore 17.1 opens the Chromatic Signatures series with a powerful, full-term maturation focused on spirit, smoke and first-fill oak. Made from 100% Scottish mainland Concerto barley, malted to 81.0 PPM, it was aged for five years entirely in first-fill bourbon barrels before being bottled at 59.7% ABV.

The bourbon maturation brings layers of vanilla milkshake, Scottish tablet and warm custard, followed by pear drops and sweet malt syrup. Octomore’s peat builds steadily underneath, bringing dry, earthy smoke, smouldering oak and ash, while a streak of salinity cuts through the sweetness and keeps the whisky fresh and balanced.

Rich, smoky and controlled, Octomore 17.1 showcases the distillery’s signature combination of intensity and finesse. The result is a bold Islay single malt where sweet first-fill bourbon character meets deeply peated spirit, with smoke, salt and sweetness working together in a powerful but composed style.
