Colour

Deep amber with lustrous copper-gold highlights and a warm mahogany glow.

Nose

Opulent sherried sweetness frames dried orchard fruits, orange zest and toffee, folded into polished oak. A subtle peat smoke weaves through the depth, with cacao, walnut and spice—elegant, aged, and memorably refined.

Palate

Silky on the palate, it blends gentle peat with polished sweetness—caramel, dried fig and dark chocolate—lifted by orange zest and oak. Sherried depth weaves through subtle fruitcake and almonds, finishing long with refined spice and a whisper of ember-tinged smoke.

Finish

An endlessly graceful finish that lingers long and velvet-soft, with toasted oak and sherry sweetness giving way to a whisper of peat smoke. Orchard fruits deepen into dark chocolate and spice, fading to a refined coastal warmth that coats the palate and invites another sip.

(ben-ROM-ach) Benromach first opened in 1900, and is situated next to the railway line in Forres, about 25 miles east of Inverness on the main route to Aberdeen. Like many distilleries that opened around this time, the distillery survived until the 1980s, but with many changes of ownership and extended periods of closure.
