Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery glow and subtle mahogany edges.
Nose
Powerful coastal peat and sea-salt smoke rise with iodine and brine, entwined with dark fruit echoes of fig and orange zest. Rich sherry notes thread through burnt sugar, cacao and antique oak, while a touch of leather and ash anchors Brora’s maritime, time-worn character.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and oily on the palate, Brora unfurls peated smoke tempered by coastal brine and a subtle sherry sweetness. Salted caramel, honeyed citrus, dried apricot and dark chocolate emerge, with white pepper and spice warming through. The finish lingers long with iodine, ash and leather, revealing the depth of thirty years.
Finish
An exceptionally long finish that glides from smoky peat and maritime brine into velvety sherry-influenced sweetness. Orange zest, dried fig, and dark chocolate unfold over toasted oak and a whisper of leather. Coastal minerality lingers with a warm peppery lift, finishing dry, resinous, and persisting on the palate long after the sip.
