The 2nd release of a full 10 year old Octomore limited to 18,000 bottles with PPM levels of 167 and bottled at 57.3% ABV and aged in an interesting combination of Ex-Bourbon and Grenache Blanc wine casks (a first for Octomore and for me)
The nose is a delight that just keeps on giving and the extra maturity here (most octomore is bottled at 5 years old) along with the funky wine cask finish has added some very interesting and diverse flavours, but then you would expect nothing less from Bruichladdich.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Sunlit gold with warm, honeyed amber undertones.
Nose
Coastal rain after heat releases mineral brine from wet sand and pebbles, a whisper of sweaty leather. Smoked mandarin cheesecake mingles with earthy smoke, oyster sauce and smoked mushroom pâté, while tobacco and oatmeal lend a refined, lingering edge.
Palate
Smoked pear and salty apple sweep across the palate, with oat biscuits and smoked cheese lending texture. Herbal lime mingles with floral notes, while a peppery bite from ripe orchard fruits adds spice and lift.
Finish
Smoked Greek yoghurt lingers with earthy herbs, lime and elderflower cordial, while salty goat's cheese dries into a lozenge-like, vegetal finish.
