Nikka Yoichi Yoichi Single Malt Japanese Whisky
In stock
Nikka's first distillery, Yoichi, was founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru. He chose the fishing town of Yoichi due its environmental similarities to Scotland, where he leared to make whisky. Yoichi Single Malt is bold and robust in character, with smoke from the peated barley and coal fired stills, and hints of brine delivered by the coastal sea breeze during the ageing process.
Yoichi (the most northern of all the Japanese distilleries) comes up with the goods and despite some obviously younger malt at work here still a superb representation of this distillery's character.
