Another of the 2018 limited releases from Nikka. This time we have a Bourbon cask finished Yoichi, matured in refill casks before being finished for a year in first fill bourbon casks. Only 2934 bottles have been produced.
Floral, fresh and sweet on the nose, with pear, lemon and vanilla aromas, all wrapped in gentle peat smoke. The palate is oaky and spicy with vanilla, baked apples, banana, clove and roasted walnuts. The finish is long and delicately smokey. There's also a spicy menthol hit and nuttiness too.

Colour
Rich amber-gold with sunlit honey tones and a soft copper glow.
Nose
Floral, fresh and sweet on the nose, with pear, lemon and vanilla aromas, all wrapped in gentle peat smoke.
Palate
On the palate it is oaky and spicy, with vanilla sweetness and notes of baked apples and banana. Clove and roasted walnuts provide depth and a nutty finish, balanced by a warm, lingering spice.
Finish
Long and delicately smoky, the finish carries a spicy menthol kick with nutty undertones.
