Mandarin zest and citrus unfold with a warm ginger kiss and creamy vanilla custard, while a subtle wisp of smoke threads through the bouquet, inviting creamy sweetness and quiet sophistication.

Palate

Candied citrus leads the palate, giving way to dark chocolate and brown sugar, with a lingering finish of dried fruits and baking spices.

Long, refined finish of dried fruits and baking spices, with lingering candied citrus and a hint of dark chocolate; a subtle smokiness slowly fades to a warm, velvet close.

Chichibu
(chee-CHEE-boo) Chichibu was founded by Ichiro Akuto and began distilling in 2008 in Saitama Prefecture, at a time when new Japanese whisky distilleries were still rare. Akuto had already made his name by rescuing casks from his family’s closed Hanyu distillery and bottling them as Ichiro’s Malt, so Chichibu arrived with a strong sense of continuity as well as a fresh start.
