Mars Komagatake is a Single Malt from the Mars Shinshu distillery, located in the Nagano region, at the heart of the Japanese Alps. This expression is aged in the Shinshu warehouse, at 800 meters above sea level.

Minami Shinshu Brewery crafts beer right next to our distillery, actively using locally sourced ingredients to make delicious brews. This time Mars experiment is introducing their used beer casks (India Pale Ale) to their whisky’s finish. In this whisky you will find hops and citrus fruits coming out, grapefruit and herbs on the palate with a bitter aftertaste.

Nose

Vibrant and aromatic, the nose exudes citrus brightness with grapefruit zest and sunlit rind. Hops rise with resinous, leafy herbal notes, weaving through subtle malt sweetness. A fresh, slightly bitter edge hints at the IPA finish, delivering a lively, modern aroma that is green, zesty and inviting.
