Single Malt Komagatake is produced at the Mars Shinshu Distillery, located at the foot of Komagatake Mountain in the Central Alps, which is surrounded by abundant nature. With fresh air and water gifted from the mountains, Mars has been committed to making the best craft at any given opportunity.
The Single Malt Komagatake Shinshu aging “2022 Edition” represents the core expression of their single malt product, which is made mainly from bourbon barrels aged whisky, accented with sherry casks aged whisky and port casks aged whisky. You will find the common characteristics of Komagatake: an elegant, rich and oily whiskey.

Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm honey-bronze glow.
Nose
Apricot and banana lift the nose, giving way to an elegant, deep aroma reminiscent of apple tea, with subtle orchard fruit lingering in a refined, poised bouquet.
Palate
Dry plum notes mingle with hazelnut from the sherry casks, while a delicate acacia honey sweetness unfurls, weaving subtle complexity into a silky, lingering finish.
Finish
Comfortable, smooth, and clean on the finish, with a rich, full impression and a gentle, slightly tannic edge. The ripe persimmon flavors linger gracefully.
