“MARS The Y.A.” is a brand new Japanese whisky made to show how astonishing the whisky matured under the one-of-a-kind environment in Yakushima is.
The 1st release is a Blended malt Japanese whisky featuring single malts from “Komagatake (Mars Shinshu distillery)”, and “Tsunuki (Mars Tsunuki distillery)” mainly matured in bourbon barrels.
The Yakushima island has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. The climate is hot and tropical with a high percentage of humidity. It is said that “it rains 35 days a month”. This extreme climate also gives Mars a different aging environment from Shinshu and Tsunuki with a higher share of angels.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Orange, candied pineapple and banana rise in a sunny fruit bouquet, woven with salt and vanilla that lend delicacy and intrigue. A gentle caramel sweetness threads through, maintaining perfect balance and a hint of coastal allure.
Palate
Following the nose, juicy fruits set the pace. The month has a rich taste that bring us in the lush flora of Yakushima. The refined saltiness is directly reminding the Pacific Ocean all around the island.
Finish
The fruitiness is surely the common thread of this Y.A. #1, supported by the sweet taste of the malt.
