Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with burnished copper and rich mahogany edges, a sun-kissed bronze glow that speaks of indulgent sherry influence.
Nose
Opulent sherry aromas blanket fig, raisin and orange peel, with a rich sweetness that coats the glass. Brora’s peat and coastal salt rise, mingling with dark chocolate, espresso and a touch of leather. Cinnamon and clove warm through a waxy, varnished timber note, crowned by velvet ex-sherry depth.
Palate
Bold, opulent and deeply sherried, this Brora coats the palate with dark plum and raisin fruit, lacquered with chocolate, fig and a ribbon of orange zest. Peat and maritime smoke weave through roasted nut and spice, while camphor and oak provide a resilient, full-bodied backbone. At cask strength, it lingers long, warming with a sweet-savoury finish that fades to roasted sugar and ash.
Finish
Long, warming finish where peaty smoke slowly yields to rich sherried fruit, cocoa and toasted oak. Dark fig and plum linger with a subtle brine, while peppery spice and a whisper of leather complete the final impression.
