Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with sunlit gold edges and coppery mahogany undertones.
Nose
Perfumed peat and coastal brine rise first, a smoky sea-air note with iodine and sea spray. Beneath, dried fruits and raisin sweetness mingle with vanilla and honeyed oak from the sherry cask. Nutmeg and clove spice spark, while a whisper of dark chocolate and tobacco adds depth, finished by a clean mineral nuance.
Palate
Coastal smoke floods the palate—sea-salt, iodine and mineral tide, wrapped around warm malt. Dark fruit and cocoa mingle with a kiss of orange zest from the sherry cask, while a waxy, full-bodied mouthfeel carries through a long peat finish. Briny, leathery and kept in check by generous sweetness.
Finish
Long, maritime finish of sea-salted peat and iodine, with ember-smoked sweetness. Brine and mineral edge drift into dark fruit, cocoa and toasted oak from the sherry cask, lingering as a warming glow. Subtle spice and drying tannins fade slowly, inviting the next contemplative sip.
