Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden straw with a warm amber glow and subtle copper highlights.

Nose

Vibrant and refined on the nose, with lemon zest and green apple, layered over vanilla custard and subtle almond. Sherry influence brings raisin and fig notes, plus cocoa and a hint of rancio, while oak and spice lend a graceful, lingering finish.

Palate

Silky and precise, the palate opens with crisp citrus, green apple and vanilla, touched by orchard freshness. Sherry-cask influence broadens with deeper fruit—raisin and fig—alongside cocoa and warm spice. The texture remains satin-soft, framed by gentle oak and a whisper of mineral. Long, refined finish with citrus zest and a hint of treacle.

Finish

Long, elegant finish with citrus zest giving way to rich dried fruit, cocoa and toasted almond. A sherried sweetness lingers, wrapped in soft spice and warm oak, fading to a balanced, warming glow.

Auchentoshan
(OCH-en-TOSH-an) Auchentoshan was officially established in 1823, with earlier roots at Duntocher on the western edge of Glasgow. It became one of the few surviving Lowland malt distilleries in the late 20th century, passing through several owners before Eadie Cairns rebuilt the site after acquiring it in 1969. Stanley P. Morrison bought Auchentoshan in 1984, and Suntory acquired Morrison Bowmore in 1994.
