Glen Moray Port Wood Finish Whisky 17 Year Old
In stock
An older bottlling of the excellent Glen Moray Port Wood Finish, when they had more chance to experiment with their spirit. A 17 year old whisky finished in port wood, for some extra red wine influenced spiciness. Interestingly with this expression, the 'finishing' period could be as much as 10 years!

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich amber-gold with coppery warmth and a subtle ruby-tinged edge, suggesting the port-influenced depth that glows in the glass.
Nose
Opulent port influence unfurls with lush red fruits—blackberry, cherry and plum—mingled with dried fig. A warming veil of spice, vanilla and cocoa lingers, with hints of caramel and polished oak from the cask.
Palate
Silky and medium-bodied, the palate opens with red-fruited sweetness—ripe plum, cherry and fig—carried by port’s plush richness. Creamy vanilla and toffee mingle with cocoa, while cinnamon and clove spice threads through, supported by subtle oak and almond. The finish is long and velvety, leaving a warm, dessert-like glow and refined, lingering complexity.
Finish
Silky, long finish infused with port wood richness: dark cherry, fig and cocoa unfold, lifted by red-wine spice and a thread of oak. Warmth lingers with a refined, velvet tannic kiss that gradually fades into sweetness.
