This 2013 Glen Moray was released as part of the Warehouse 1 collection after a finish in Amontillado sherry casks. Bottled at 57.5% ABV, it brings a drier, more savoury kind of sherry influence than an Oloroso or Pedro Ximénez cask, adding nutty depth, spice and structure to the distillery’s fruit-led Speyside spirit.

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a warm bronze edge.

Nose

A dry, savoury nose of dried fruit and toasted nuts, brightened by orange peel, with a subtle veil of soft oak.

Palate

Rich and structured on the palate, orchard fruits leading the way, edged by sherried spice, with nutty depth and a touch of gentle sweetness that lingers with subtle oak.

Finish

Long, warming finish with a dry Amontillado sherry tang. Nutty depth and orchard-spice linger, fading into toasted oak and a measured, savoury dryness that persists.

(Glen-MOR-ay) Glen Moray was founded in 1897 in Elgin, when the old Elgin West Brewery was converted into a distillery, with the first spirit running on 13 September that year. After a short silent period during the First World War, production resumed and the distillery was later acquired by Macdonald & Muir, before passing to La Martiniquaise in 2008.
