Glen Moray Distillery, formerly a brewery, was converted in 1897. Situated to the west of Elgin, it spent most of its early years in silence, until it was bought by new owners in the 1920s and expanded in 1958.

Colour

Rich amber with coppery highlights and a dusky mahogany edge

Nose

Banana milkshake leads the aroma, followed by praline ice cream and marzipan, with cherry and apricot gradually surfacing.

Palate

Dried banana and sweet wheat unfold on the palate, carried on waves of vanilla pods, sweet oak and cereals.

Finish

A long, refined finish that lingers with cocoa, creamy rice pudding and bright fruit-salad notes, leaving a gentle, comforting sweetness on the palate.

Glen Moray
(Glen-MOR-ay) Glen Moray was founded in 1897 in Elgin, when the old Elgin West Brewery was converted into a distillery, with the first spirit running on 13 September that year. After a short silent period during the First World War, production resumed and the distillery was later acquired by Macdonald & Muir, before passing to La Martiniquaise in 2008.
