Tasting Notes

Nose

Opulent sherry aroma floods the glass, with dark fruit compote of prune, fig and raisin, threaded with walnut and toffee. Cocoa and espresso notes surface, entwined with vanilla, caramel and baking spices. Hints of cedar oak and a delicate leather nuance lend sophistication to a finish that hints at Christmas pudding and old oak.

(Cole-Burn) Coleburn was founded in 1897 by John Robertson & Son in Longmorn, south of Elgin, during the late Victorian whisky boom. The distillery was designed by Charles Doig, the architect behind many of Scotland’s most recognisable pagoda-roofed distilleries, and production began in 1899.
