Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with bronze-gold depth and a faint ruby glow.

Nose

An alluring fusion of red fruit and wine influence. Ripe plums, blackberries and cassis mingle with Pomerol-driven sweetness, layered over soft vanilla and toasted oak. Subtle grape skins and fig give depth, while a whisper of citrus zest threads through, granting a refined, wine-kissed elegance to this Lowlands single malt.

Palate

Silky and generous on the palate, red berry and plum rise with vanilla cream and citrus zest. The Pomerol finish coats with velvety tannins and Bordeaux spice, weaving chocolate-tinged oak into a long, warm, balanced finish.

Finish

Long and wine-kissed, the finish pours out red fruit sweetness—plum, blackberry, and a touch of cherry—bridled by Bordeaux spice and a whisper of cocoa. Vanilla-bourbon warmth lingers as subtle tannins from the Pomerol cask mingle with oak, leaving a velvety, enduring finale.

Auchentoshan
(OCH-en-TOSH-an) Auchentoshan was officially established in 1823, with earlier roots at Duntocher on the western edge of Glasgow. It became one of the few surviving Lowland malt distilleries in the late 20th century, passing through several owners before Eadie Cairns rebuilt the site after acquiring it in 1969. Stanley P. Morrison bought Auchentoshan in 1984, and Suntory acquired Morrison Bowmore in 1994.
