Ledaig Berry Bros & Rudd - Single Cask #700327 Whisky 14 Year Old · 2009 Vintage
In stock
Tobermory is the main town on the isle of Mull, a quaint harbour town overlooking the bay. The eponymous distillery produces peated and unpeated malt whisky. This whisky is the former type, known as Ledaig (pronounced “laycheck” by the locals).
Tasting Notes:
Smoked bacon, grilled meats and bonfire ash draw you into this glass before it develops into peat bogs, hearths and soot. Everything deepens on the palate bringing more smoked meats, with Cullen skink and wood smoke. Lingering savoury smoke and cocoa endure on the palate. A dram to enjoy while Mulling over why peat devotees always flock to Islay.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery glints and a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
Smoked bacon and grilled meats rise from the glass, edged by bonfire ash. A bold peat smoke envelops the nose, with savory, charred notes and a hint of hearth warmth that promises depth and complexity.
Palate
Smoked bacon, grilled meats and bonfire ash open the palate, giving way to peat bogs, hearth and soot with deeper waves of smoked meat. Cullen skink and wood smoke weave through, ending in a lingering savoury smoke and cocoa.
Finish
Long, savoury finish of peat smoke and ash, persisting with cocoa nibs and a whisper of sea salt. Ember-soft warmth lingers, the smoke slowly fading into a final, quietly indulgent peat sweetness.
