Bottled for Murray McDavid’s Benchmark series, this Ledaig was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2026 at 16 years old. Finished in Quinta dos Frades wine casks and bottled at 57.5% ABV, it was released in an outturn of 589 bottles.
The wine cask adds a darker fruit character to Ledaig’s smoky island style, giving the whisky extra depth without taking away from the distillery’s earthy peat and coastal weight. The result is a bold, well-structured whisky where smoke, red fruit, spice and oak all sit comfortably together.
