Another beauty of a Ledaig, this time from The Vnatge Malt Company as part of their Cooper's Choice Range. This is a vintage, 17 year Ledaig that has been matured in a combination of American Oak and Moscatel wine casks. Again, a small outturn of just 318 bottles for this release.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany sheen.
Nose
Profoundly peaty with rich, sweet smoke, hints of smoked apple skins and tar.
Palate
Sweet peat and iodine on the palate, with liquorice and fruity sherry notes. Rich old leather under a full-bodied wash of smoke, interlaced with spice, delivering bold, lingering warmth.
Finish
Long lasting, with more old leather and sweet, juicy smoke.
