Brora (silent) 2014 Special Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky 35 Year Old · 1978 Vintage
Out of stock
The 13th special release of Brora from the official bottlers Diageo. This years release is stunning and a real bargain compared to Port Ellen, but sadly the remaining stocks are fast depleting so who knows how for how long this classic annual series will continue? Taste wise the refill American & European casks mean this is the lighter end of the Brora style but still with plenty of waxy dried fruit, subtle peppery smoke and that lovely salty coastal note you get with this sadly lost wonderful distillery.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Bright golden amber with a warm honey glow and a subtle bronze tint.
Nose
Waxy dried fruit dominates the aroma, lifted by peppery smoke and a distinctly salty coastal note. A light maritime breeze threads through, with subtle peat underpinning Brora’s refined coastal character.
Palate
Waxy dried fruits—apricots and figs—meet a subtle peppery smoke, while a salty coastal breeze threads through the sweetness. Lighter in Brora’s style, it carries maritime salt and waxy textures through to a long, refined finish.
Finish
Long and refined, the finish suspends waxy, dried fruit tones with coastal saltiness and a thread of peppery smoke that lingers, gradually fading into a soft mineral warmth.
