Distilled in 2008 at Bruichladdich and released by independent bottler Dramfool for Fèis Ìle 2022, this heavily peated Octomore was matured for 12 years in a first fill ex-bourbon hogshead. Bottled at natural cask strength of 62.8% ABV, this limited festival edition was produced as just 330 bottles in 25cl format.
This single cask showcases Octomore’s signature intensely peated Islay character, balanced by the influence of first fill bourbon maturation which typically enhances vanilla sweetness, toasted oak and spice while allowing the smoky, maritime distillery style to remain prominent. The high phenol levels associated with Octomore and long coastal maturation create a bold, layered and powerful expression.

Nose
Intense maritime peat smoke entwined with sea salt and iodine, lifted by vanilla sweetness from first-fill bourbon. Toasted oak, touches of spice and caramel mingle with citrus zest, while a mineral brine threads through the Islay core. Bold, layered and unmistakably Octomore in aroma.
