Octomore 06.3 Islay Barley Whisky 5 Year Old · 2009 Vintage
Out of stock
The 2014 release of cult Whisky Octomore with a PPM rating of 258 this is the most heavily peated Octomore ever released (so far) and probably the peatiest Whisky the world has ever experienced.
Only 18,000 bottles released and made using 100% Islay Barley.
Don't let the PPM and ABV level or the fact this is only 5 years old fool you, this is an interesting and elegant late addition to Jim McEwan's long list of achievements with the Bruichladdich distillery.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
Mossy and coastal, wet earth, minerally, tangarine skin, waxy fruit, smoked leather, herbal and floral notes.
Palate
Smoked oatmeal and dried chili open the palate, easing into waxy citrus and orange oil, with the peat rendered in a refined, balanced, elegant glow that lingers.
Finish
Orange oil and waxy smoked citrus linger, with a keening spice. Burnt straw and minerally barley freshness thread through the aftertaste, leaving a clean, mineral finish that prolongs the Islay intensity in refined balance.
