Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep mahogany amber with a coppery glow and ruby highlights, a wine-dark core that hints at sherry richness.

Nose

Blackberry jam, walnuts and liquorice rise from the glass, lifted by a subtle smokiness on the nose.

Palate

Peat smoke lingers on the palate, unfolding with black forest gateau, maraschino cherries and dates, then dark chocolate ganache. Rich sherried sweetness adds depth, while a gentle warmth and cocoa notes carry through to a long, smoky finish.

Finish

Long and gentle, the finish lingers with coffee beans, sea salt and peat smoke, leaving a warm, coastal echo.

(LONG-row) Longrow is the heavily peated single malt made at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, first produced in 1973 as an experiment to prove that an Islay-style whisky could be made on the mainland. It takes its name from a lost Campbeltown distillery that once stood beside Springbank, and what began as a one-off run later became a regular part of production, with Longrow established as one of the distillery’s three core styles alongside Springbank and Hazelburn.
