Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany depth and coppery edges, a wine-warm glow that hints at sherry maturation.
Nose
Opulent sherry on the nose, with dark dried fruits—raisin, fig, date—lifted by caramel, toffee and toasted oak. Spices—clove, cinnamon, nutmeg—mingle with cacao and tobacco, while the Ben Nevis malt offers a malty sweetness and subtle mineral backbone, signaling the depth to come.
Palate
Opulent, full-bodied and warming, it coats the palate with thick malt and sherry-soaked fruit—prune, fig and raisin—alongside cocoa, espresso and toasted almond. Spice blooms in measured waves: cinnamon, clove and a hint of nutmeg, lifted by subtle oak. The finish is long and velvety, with dark fruit, mocha and a touch of sweetness lingering, carried by warm cask spice.
Finish
Opulent, long and sherry-driven, the finish opens with fig and raisin, dark chocolate and toasted almond, then settles into oak and spice. Cask-strength warmth holds court, with cinnamon and clove threads, fading slowly into a velvety, richly lingering finale.
