Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep burnished amber with coppery-bronze highlights and a mahogany core.

Nose

Very fruity and inviting, the nose opens with toffee apples and pears, while strawberry chocolates linger in the background. Salted popcorn kernels mingle with mint leaves and honey, adding a playful, bright lift to the aroma.

Palate

Salty and coastal, the palate carries the fruitiness through raisins, chocolate orange and prunes, finishing with a drying note of demerara sugar and digestive biscuit.

Finish

A drying finish of BBQ spices—cayenne and paprika—giving way to cinnamon sugar, oats and pecan nuts, all carried by the hallmark gentle Longrow smoke.

(LONG-row) Longrow is the heavily peated single malt made at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, first produced in 1973 as an experiment to prove that an Islay-style whisky could be made on the mainland. It takes its name from a lost Campbeltown distillery that once stood beside Springbank, and what began as a one-off run later became a regular part of production, with Longrow established as one of the distillery’s three core styles alongside Springbank and Hazelburn.
