About Longrow
(LONG-row) Longrow is the heavily peated single malt made at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, first produced in 1973 as an experiment to prove that an Islay-style whisky could be made on the mainland. It takes its name from a lost Campbeltown distillery that once stood beside Springbank, and what began as a one-off run later became a regular part of production, with Longrow established as one of the distillery’s three core styles alongside Springbank and Hazelburn.
The whisky is double distilled and made from heavily peated malt, giving it a smoky, oily and robust style that reflects both Springbank’s production methods and Campbeltown’s older whisky traditions. The range now centres on expressions such as Longrow Peated, Longrow Red and Longrow 18 Year Old, giving the label a distinct place within Springbank’s portfolio and a strong following among drinkers looking for a more muscular, peat-driven Campbeltown malt.
