The eighth release in the popular Longrow Red series, featuring heavilly peated malt from Springbank distillery, partially matured in differing Wine casks. This current release is a 13 Year old Single Malt that has been matured for 10 years in Bourbon and Sherry oak before a 3 year finishing period in Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon casks.
The Cabernet Sauvignon casks used in this expression have been sourced from Mont Gras’ Intriga Estate in Alto Maipo, located at the foot of the Andes in Chile. Bottled at a cask strength of 51.6% ABV and one of 9000 bottles.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with ruby-red highlights.
Nose
Rhubarb and custard rise first, then stewed red fruits with blackberry and ginger. Notes of strawberry and cream boiled sweets mingle with barley sugar, delivering a playful, candy-kissed sweetness that hints at depth to come.
Palate
Barley water sweetness mingles with summer berries and red apples, brightened by warming peat embers. A savory thread of goat’s cheese and black tea underpins the palate, finishing with coastal smoke and a dry, refined nuance.
Finish
A fairly dry finish lingers with coastal brine and billowing peat, leaving a smoky, maritime echo with subtle mineral notes.
