Released in October 2016, The High Seas is part of the Smugglers’ Series Volume 2, a tribute to the distillers who outwitted government representatives while conjuring the famous Arran Waters. It’s as full of character as the figures who inspired it.
Matured in a combination of rum casks and first-fill bourbon barrels - 8,700 bottles were produced.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Citrus leads, mingling with outdoorsy notes and a coastal hint of seaweed. Orchard fruits and white pepper unfold with a dry fino-sherry accent, while a whisper of burned pine wood lingers in the background.
Palate
A fizzing mouthfeel with sherbet character. A fresh spearmint note appears and mingles with warm bramley apple pie and ice cream. There is tangy lime marmalade with chilli pepper heat and a whiff of smoke from a just-lit fire of pine logs. The addition of water shows honey dew melon and pear drop sweets.
Finish
Distillery character shines through; notes of apples, citrus and good body are elongated by a backbone of subtle smoke.
