Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich amber-gold with coppery sheen and mahogany depth, a warm, sunset-hued glow in the glass.
Nose
Opulent nose of dark fruit and rich sherry, with plum, fig and raisin entwined with port sweetness. Vanilla, toffee and cocoa from ex-bourbon oak drift in, while a spectrum of peat—lightly to heavily peated—adds smoky depth. A maritime edge lingers, signaling patience and rarity to come.
Palate
Opulent and multi-layered on the palate, this Arran delivers a dense, mouth-coating core of dark fruit and sherry sweetness. Ripe plum, fig and raisin mingle with port pipes and sherry hogsheads, while vanilla, cocoa nib and toasted almond from the bourbon cask add depth. A spectrum of peat—from light to heavy—brings gentle smoke and spice, finishing long, warming, and resinous.
Finish
Long, opulent finish with dark fruit and fig from sherry and port, kissed by vanilla-bourbon sweetness. Subtle peat smoke threads through velvety oak, giving spice, cocoa and orange zest a lingering, warm fade.
