Arran Single Malt Scotch Whisky 30 Year Old
In stock
Arran 30 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the oldest and most prestigious official Arran whisky released to date. Created from a very limited selection of old and rare sherry hogsheads laid down during the earliest days of production at Lochranza Distillery, it captures three decades of maturation and an important chapter in the history of whisky production on the Isle of Arran.
Lochranza Distillery began producing spirit in 1995, bringing legal whisky distillation back to the Isle of Arran after an absence of more than 150 years. The casks selected for this 30-year-old expression date from the distillery’s formative years, making it a particularly significant release for collectors and long-standing followers of Arran single malt.
Three decades in sherry hogsheads have developed remarkable richness, depth and maturity while retaining the bright, fruit-forward character associated with Lochranza. The casks bring layers of dried fruit, dark chocolate, warming spice and polished oak, balanced by ripe orchard fruit, honey and vibrant citrus. The result is a mature Island single malt with impressive weight and complexity, yet enough freshness to prevent the older oak character from becoming dominant.
The aroma opens with burnt orange, star anise and cinnamon, supported by toasted oak and deeper sherry-cask notes. The palate is rich and layered, combining honey, ripe apples and orchard fruit with creamy vanilla, cloves and seasoned oak. A long, sweet finish follows, leaving toffee apple, orange zest and a gently fading honeyed warmth.
Bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, Arran 30 Year Old is presented in a bespoke bottle with copper detailing and a premium woodgrain-embossed label. The natural wooden presentation box is finished with elegant copper accents, creating a fitting presentation for one of the most important and mature whiskies in the distillery’s history.
This rare Arran whisky is best enjoyed neat in a tasting glass, allowing the depth of its sherry cask maturation and mature oak character to develop gradually. A small amount of water can be added to reveal further citrus, orchard fruit and spice. Its age, provenance and luxurious wooden presentation also make it an exceptional Scotch whisky gift for a landmark birthday, anniversary or important celebration.
